Southdown Under- 16s completed their season and last ever game for the club with a 4-3 defeat to County and League champions AS Eastbourne.
In a typically dogged display, Southdown nearly pulled of a shock draw against an excellent AS Eastbourne side, who hadn’t lost a game all season. Goals from George Gladding (2) and top scorer Sunni Esere, weren’t quite enough to secure the point despite pressure in the final few minutes. This included a Ewan Edwards goal bound shot being deflected just wide of the post with virtually the last kick of the game.
Despite the loss, it was a fantastic performance and a fitting end to 9 seasons with the club.
Everyone at Southdown wishes the lads all the best for their future football journey.
