Southdown Under-7's travelled to Plumpton for their first ever away fixture and put in some great performances across five matches.
The team travelled in numbers, taking 23 excited kids to Plumpton College where the elegant football on display was anything but agricultural. The squad split into three teams to ensure everyone got plenty of minutes on the pitch and the players threw themselves into all their games with enthusiasm.
The teams played fives matches winning two and losing three but football was the real winner on the day as both Southdown and their hosts Plumpton put together some slick passing moves, fierce shots and gravity defying saves. The matches were a great learning experience for all the players involved and will set them up well for the rest of the season.
With so many kids involved coaches Abbie and Owen were grateful for the support from lots of enthusiastic parents who took part as refs, coaches and supporters.
