Southdown's Under-7's hosted their long awaited first home games of the season against Southwater on a windy Saturday morning at the Burgess Hill Academy.
The recent wild and wet weather meant Southdown's usual home ground at Leylands was unavailable necessitating a switch to the 3G facilities at the school. Southdown saw another good turnout with 20 kids getting a run out over two games. The matches were hard fought with Southdown tackling and pressing enthusiastically and Southwater showing inventiveness and creativity in attack.
The match was the midpoint in the Under-7's development season and the kids are showing real development in their positional understanding and teamwork. Players and parents alike went away for the Christmas break enthused and ready to return in January to continue that development.
